“The genius of Solaqua lies in its merging of compatible-not competitive-interests:
employment, tourism, the environment, architectural re-use, alternative energy, the
arts."
Jan Hanvick, (former)
Executive Director, Columbia County
Council on the Arts
Solaqua’s mission is to integrate renewable energy and the arts, and promote a sustainable
future through community education and revitalization.
Solaqua Power & Art is based in the Town of Chatham, New York, one mile from the
Exit B-2 intersection of I-90/New York State Thruway/Massachusetts Turnpike and the
Taconic State Parkway — the gateway to the Hudson Valley, Capital District, and the
Berkshires. The area is renowned for its quality of life and scenic beauty, just
2.5 hours from New York City and Boston. Two Amtrak terminals, with 2-hour direct
service to NYC, and the Albany International Airport are all within an easy 30-minute
